A Month in Washington DC

In May, the Dahlin family packed up all their belongings and tossed them into storage  Since then, we have spent each month in a new state.  Why?  Aaron is in his final year of medical school.  We are doing audition rotations at Army hospitals for residency.  Aaron did a dermatology rotation in Utah during the month of June.  In July we went to Washington DC!  You could spend a life-time in DC and never see or do it all, consequently we stayed busy.  We took a million pictures but here is a few to summarize our trip:

Love how everything is free in DC!  This is the National Zoo, also free.

We were in Washington DC/Maryland during the huge storm that put people out of power for over a week.  What an awesome storm.

This was one of the kids favorite place.  At the Portrait Museum, there is this huge inner-court that had these slabs of stone with water rolling over them.  Great place for getting wet on a hot day!

We were lucky enough to catch in on a friends wedding while we were in DC.  This is a sister missionary that served in our ward in Arizona.

We stayed at an awesome apartment building with fabulous views.  The Metro station is in the top left of the picture.  The kids loved watching the trains, cars, buses, and people below.

Anders could seriously sit here all day and watch the trains from our window.  What a little boy!

This is the swimming pool at our apartment.  We picked this apartment because it had a lap pool.

So, Washington DC was awesome!  This wasn't my first visit to DC, but it was a completely different experience to live here. Every time Eva sees a penny she has to point to the picture on the back and say with her usual excitement, "I've been there!"
For me, I loved seeing the history of our country.  When we saw the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, I got cold-chills! God Bless America!
