The Queen of Scoots

Eva started scooting September 17th, at four-and-a-half months old! So far she just scoots herself with the right leg, but it is just enough to get her all over the house. I sat Eva down on her blanket to cook dinner, and the next thing I know she was across the room, chasing down my water bottle! We know that we are in trouble, but we sure are having fun nonetheless. Enjoy!

Instruction Manual Anyone?

Does anyone have an instruction manual for this bouncer? Somehow I just don't think this is right. Anyway, Eva found several NEW uses for her bouncer! Guess we better start buckling her in!

More Giggles

Aaron and I had just finished putting Eva in new pajamas, the kind with built in feet. WHOOOA! Eva and our dog Boa thought those funny looking feet were the greatest thing since rice cereal. Eva started kicking her feet out of excitement, which was purely an invitation for Boa to attack. If you have ever been to the Dahlin house wearing socks, you know what I am talking about because you most likely didn't leave wearing dry, slobber-less socks. Anyway, so Boa started nibbling on Eva's feet, and Eva, to our delight, laughed and laughed and laughed! For your enjoyment, we were able to catch just the last of the excitement on video. You'll thank me later.

Silly Eva

We have been blessed with a very active, jovial, and "full-of-it" child. She is 15 weeks old and has mastered the back-to-belly roll, has a rolling giggle, and hardly stops "talking" and wiggling. She's her daddy's girl! Since a picture just doesn't do the crazy girl justice, here are a few videos we have taken of Eva.

Eva's First Baseball Game!

Take me out the the ball game...
We live just minutes from the Peoria baseball stadium were all the rookie teams practice and play their games. The Mariners played the Angels last night in a free game to the public! Aaron and I are all about free entertainment! Since all these rookie games are free, we thought the stadium would be packed. Nope! And since we had our choice of seating, Aaron picked the front row. Later, when we nearly caught a foul ball, we moved to the second row back behind the catcher and the screen! I was amazed how hard and fast the players could throw those baseballs! It was amazing! Eva was also an instant fan and had a fabulous time watching the game. However, by the end of the third inning, Eva had three strikes and she was OUT! I mean fast asleep! We couldn't wake her so we called it a night and headed home.

Cute Cousin Hannah!

Eva and Hannah met each other for the first time last week in Cedar City. Hannah is just three weeks younger than Eva! We were so excited when we found out that Aaron's older sister, Sara, was expecting a baby girl the same time we were. The two girls will no doubt be buds one day. One picture we took shows the girls arm-in-arm with one another, while the other picture show them fighting! Aw, that's true friendship!

Be Without Debt As Much As You Can Be, In the Army!

It's official, I am now married to a second lieutenant in the United States Army! No, I didn't remarry, Aaron was sworn in on July 21st. We have decided to let the Army pay for our yearly $46,000 medical school tuition, as well as added living expenses. Aaron will be attending medical school here in Arizona for the next four years, followed by a three year residency and a three year fellowship. That is TEN more years of training ahead of us. We figured that by that time we will be gray with walkers, and we didn't want to have to worry about paying off $300,000+ in debt! Anyway, the swearing in process was very cool. Aaron had to promise to defend the "Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic, that [he] will bear true the faith and allegiance to the same; that [he will] take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that [he] will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office upon which [he] is about to enter; SO HELP [HIM] GOD."
Congrats Aaron!

Taking Home the Gold

Aaron and I signed up to swim six events at this year's Utah Summer Games swimming competition. Just seven weeks after having a baby, I was neither happy with the way my suit fit nor my slow times, but still took home six gold medals! Aaron had a great showing and walked away with five gold medals and one silver. We had a lot of fun and great support from our dedicated fans (a.k.a. our families and little Eva).

Eva's First Camping Trip

Due to the busy last few weeks, I have a lot to catch up on! On July 18, our last Saturday in Utah, our family went camping at the Richfield KOA. Aaron had a two day swim meet for his junior team at the Richfield pool. So, knowing that our chances for going camping anytime in the foreseeable future were slim, we decided to make the excursion a camping trip! Aaron, Eva, our dog Boa, and myself slept in a little two man tent! Eva, at less than three months old, slept wonderfully, waking only once to Boa's nervous barks. On the other hand, Boa didn't sleep so well. All the unfamiliar noises made her uneasy, and she had to keep warning Aaron and I of the sudden danger that was unquestionably lurking just outside our tent. But we survived! The following morning, while Aaron was at his swim meet, Boa, Eva, and I went for a long walk around the KOA and surrounding neighborhood. It was a beautiful morning! We've Moved!

Hell hath no fury like Arizona's summers...but were taking it like men...sweaty men.
It's official, Aaron and I have moved to the grand state of Arizona. We would like to thank all our dear friends and family who helped us with the move. We love and miss you already!

So far, Aaron's goal is to get skin cancer early so we have been spending a lot of time at our apartment's outdoor pool. We have been shopping a lot, as well, to restock our fridge. What I love about shopping at Walmart in Arizona is that I can look like I just crawled out of bed, and it is no big deal because I'm not going to run into ANYONE that I know! Ha! It is great! No more make-up or showers for me! Just kidding.
